THE BEATLES A to ZDoors 5PM // Show 6PM // $10
It all begins with the Beatles. The music they recorded. The influence they left behind.
One evening in March of 2006, Tim Palmieri and Sean Miller were playing music together. Sean was showing Tim how to play "Dear Prudence" when the two musicians thought, "What if two people tried to play every Beatles song that was recorded alphabetically from A to Z?" Thus became the concept of The Beatles A-Z project.
The two musicians have been influenced by The Beatles since first being introduced to the music at an early age, which contributed to their vast knowledge of the music, lyrics and the nuances you hear in the original recordings. Their role in presenting this project is to perform each song just as the original recordings were recorded; all the while making each song their own. Another purpose for presenting this, that Tim and Sean both agreed upon, is to share their enthusiasm and passion of the Fab Four.
The Beatles recorded over 215 songs from 1962 until 1970. Learning all of the songs is not an easy task, armed with only The Beatles Complete Scores and their musical ability they set out to accomplish this feat. The result of their efforts will be heard on the 5 Sundays in August at the Daniel Street Music Club in Milford, CT. It will be quite event. We hope that you will come and enjoy the music that has influenced us over the years.

Sofia Talvik (Early 5PM)
Sun, July 27
w/ The Breakfast
$10 / 5PM / 21+
Sofia Talvik was born on an island just off the west coast of Sweden. At the tender age of eighteen she left behind the comfort of home for the bright lights and lonely nights of Stockholm where every experience, good and bad, would soon take the form of a beautiful, funny or heartbreaking story destined to capture the hearts and minds of all who would hear the words when set to Sofia’s gentle, melodic acoustic guitar and minimalist back up of cellos, double bass and soft percussion.
After releasing a low key but critically acclaimed EP, Sofia set to work fine tuning twelve of her songs for the recording of the debut album Blue Moon. As a writer, artist and producer she oversaw every step of the process and the resultis an album where the lyrics take centre stage and the melodies provide the essence.

Show 9PM / 21+
Explosive live performances, non-stop touring and a commitment to songwriting have earned Will Hoge a fanatical following as well as critical acclaim. Through sharp lyricisms and strong melodies, his songs tell stories that are delivered with a passion and desperation that demand attention. His latest live album, Again Somewhere Tomorrow, is sonic proof of what Will's fans have known for years – that he's one of the most powerfully expressive rock singers today.
Will and his band live the rock life of touring, writing and recording from their Nashville base. He epitomizes an ideal for rock musicians: free-spirited and individualistic, knowledgeable of the past but not obsessed with it and eminently capable of bringing renewed creative energy and passion to his music and performance. His trademark blend of classic and contemporary elements were decisively defined in his debut album, Carousel, which set the tone for subsequent albums, including Blackbird On A Lonely Wire, The America EP and The Man Who Killed Love.
His albums feature muscular, soulful, working class rock n roll that listeners feel as well as hear. With powerful songs about love, loss, longing and joy, thundering rhythms and searing guitars, audiences are instantly reminded as to why they fell in love with rock n roll in the first place.

This year Thursday, August 14, is the date that marks the 3 year anniversary of original music being presented at Daniel Street in Milford, CT. We are all very excited for this event and wanted to thank all of our friends, enemies, bands, families, pets, employees, & coffee watering holes for the support they have given us over this past year & The 154 shows we some how ended up doing. We will be honoring all of the bands that performed here over the last year with a commemorative T-Shirt designed by none other than Mr. Mike Falcigno, which will be available at the show.
In this years line up we have 3 great touring bands: Panther (Kill Rock Stars), Digital Leather(AZ) & Fiasco (NYC). In addition to these groups we will have 3 local bands: Eula, Electric Bucket, & Murdervan.
PANTHER is the two-headed effort of Charlie Salas-Humara (The Planet The) on vocals, cello and keys and Joe Kelly (31 Knots) on drums. But even when it was Charlie's solo effort he was never really alone. Whether live or on record there was a sense that PANTHER was being overtaken by something, not an alter-ego, this was something else. Think Ian Curtis' convulsive intensity and James Browns spastic swagger and you still won't have PANTHER, but a sense of what-the-fuckness that all of them seem to call up. The early recordings born in the basements and warehouses of Portland OR around 2001 brought a new brand of broken electro that when coupled with the lunatic immediacy of his modern dance meltdowns defied categorization entirely PANTHER landed on bills as varied as opening slots from PEACHES to WOLF EYES. The monstrous throb of the beats matched by Charlie's intensity bring a sense of religious visitation to any room PANTHER humps the floor in. His panic-driven falsetto howling non-sequiturs about paranoid sexuality make his jams hysterical, compelling but most importantly danceable.

Jonathan Edelstein, Lucian Buscemi and Julian Bennett Holmes are Fiasco, a Brooklyn trio formed in 2005. Their upcoming instrumental album Native Canadians, the follow up to 2007's God Loves Fiasco, will be released in summer '08 on Impose Records. Known for their chaotic live shows and technical proficiency, they've been described as a mix of punk, noise, and math rock, and have traveled to Austin for SXSW and as far as Bosnia for the Sarajevo Film Festival. However, their favorite places to play are people's houses.

Taking cues from late ‘70s/early ‘80s synthpunk pioneers as THE SCREAMERS, NERVOUS GENDER and THE UNITS, this Arizona-based one man band rely on just keyboards, drum machines and vocals to set the scene of gloomy electronic desert landscapes and gay night club discotheques. This is the life of Sean Foree, who created this masterpiece in his one bedroom apartment in Tempe, Arizona. Live, he borrows members from THE WONGS, REATARDS, LOST SOUNDS and DESTRUCTION UNIT. Ten tracks that are sure to appeal to fans of the current rebirth of keyboards in punk...

Darik & The FunbagsFri, August 22
$8 / Show 9PM / 21+
Who Are We? Well, that’s a good question! I guess the most accurate definition would be that we are five guys who passionately enjoy entertaining people through music. I can go on and tell you that we’re all seasoned musicians who have played in a variety of different bands since our early teens, but I’d rather focus on what it is we’re doing now. Chris and I (Darik) after trying our luck with the local metal band Freebeer (covering bands like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, etc.,) decided to change our direction, our name and our premise. It’s now, if never before, all about doing this for two reasons; To have a good time and drink lot’s of goddamn beer! Why? Well, basically because we believe that when people go out, they want to forget about work, school and all the other BS that goes on in their lives. We want our audience to be able to sing along with the songs they grew up with and be around people who are fun. Darik and the funbags is a coming together of all these things and our goal is to continue to dig deep into our twisted, creative and playfully eccentric minds to create this kind of atmosphere. And of course if all that fails, we all just get drunk and pray for the best. Nevertheless, it’s always a good time! If people walk away saying "I can’t believe I had that great of a time!" then we feel we’ve done our job! If you’ve been to any of our shows then you know why it’s been working so well. It’s undoubtedly because of the people we call "funbaggers". What’s a funbagger? Well, that would be those who partake in the madness week to week, leaving their inhibitions at home, free to dance, sing and get crazy with no fear of criticism. If you see one of these people, say hi, buy them a drink, take off each others clothes, what have you but do something because they just might change your life, they most definitely have changed ours!

(Please-ee-uh-saur) Already in the name, flashes the unholy nexus between the sheer relentlessness of Godzilla and the pleasures of pleasure. PLEASEEASAUR: An astonishing two-man entertainment strike-force comprised of performer/musician JP Hasson and projectionist/costume designer/multimedia extraordinaire Thomas Hurley III...both raised in bucolic rural Western Washington have taken their act to the streets of the world and have now reached the top of the international comedy pile by signing a 7 year contract with the prestigious Comedy Central. A dynamic duo that specializes in the absurd…and the absurdly funny. From the commercial jingle-esque hits like No Prob Limo or Pizza Brothers & Sons Inc. to the educationally motivated WARNING: These Cobras Are Totally Cool...Pleaseeasaur’s ever-expanding field of inspiration is similar to that of a deep space vacuum…where equal parts surreal lunacy, pop orthodoxy, literary syntax, infomercial music and sheer idiocy are culled, cultivated and transformed into classic Pleaseeasaur song form…then dispensed with glee to pleasure seekers of every ilk amongst their rapidly growing world-wide cult following.
From America to Australia…from Europe to the Euphrates…Pleaseeasaur tours relentlessly…providing the most unique and hilarious multi-media extravaganzas west of wherever…and as the L.A. Weekly exclaims “[Pleaseeasaur] is probably the craziest act in America today”… Which is exactly the trophy they have been training for. Oh My God

$5 / 8PM / 21+
fOOLS wANT nOISE don't you?
Apes have been employed…babies want their toys…Fools Want Noise! Here comes the crashing, thrashing, utterly smashing new album from oh my god—their first recording with guitar, their most searing set of songs ever. Oh my god’s notorious blasts of organ overdrive, grinding bass, precision drum attacks and contagious vocal hooks have never packed such a jolt.
Oh my god has been on the road for five-plus years as they’ve written and recorded the Oh My God EP (2000) and the albums Well (2001), Action! (2002), Interrogations & Confessions (2003) and You’re Too Straight to Love Me (2004). Now, the nasty organ of ig (who’s toured/played with Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Van Morrison, Otis Rush…), the inhumane drumming of Bish and the society-page scandals of singer/bassist Billy O’Neill join forces with that…th-th-th-that thing….GUITAR! Look for longtime Chicago oh my god mate Matt Lenny to handle the live six-string parts; Jake Garcia of NYC’s Darediablo (Southern Records) laid ’em down in the studio.
Simple JimSat, Oct 11 $7 / Show 9PM // 21+
Simple Jim has been one of Connecticut's premiere rock band for over ten years. The band began playing at such legendary venues as Toad's Place, CBGB's, and the Elbow Room. Crowds thrived on Gerald's on-stage presence and over the top antics, whether Simple Jim was covering Violent Femmes, Blondie, Harvey Danger, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, REM, Green Day and others, or whether they were playing catchy original tunes. Not long after that Simple Jim released their self-titled second album, "Simple Jim." It featured somewhat softer songs ("The Letter", "10,000 Miles") but still included Simple Jim's signature hard rock inflections ("Fan Club", "Circles", "I Am"). Fans repeatedly begged to hear one track: "8 Inch Ruler", another work of Gerald's which speaks of a certain measuring stick and is worth witnessing live...Fortunately he has never been thrown out of Toad's Place for that, a la Jim Morrison. They have played benefit concerts for national and local causes, such as Red Cross Relief and scholarship funds. In recent years they spent time back in the studio to produce an unreleased EP that features such tracks as "Love", "LaQueeda", and "Here" - stay tuned to this page because you might be able to download them here!
Monotonix (Tel Aviv)
Sun, October 19
$5 / 9PM / 21+
Dissatisfied with the state of the music scene in their hometown of Tel Aviv, the Israeli trio Monotonix formed in November of 2005 with the mission of redefining the rock show. The band, consisting of singer Ami Shalev, guitarist Yonatan Gat, and drummer Ran Shimoni, channel riff heavy influences Led Zeppelin, the Sonics, and Thin Lizzy to create raw, driving rock & roll. Shortly after forming, they would accomplish their mission in Tel Aviv, defying the expectations of what a rock show should be there. They would set up on the floor among the crowd and proceed to turn every performance into a wild party, wild enough that more often then not they would find the power getting shut off on them or the police called to break up the show.
Eventually finding themselves banned from most of the venues in Tel Aviv, the band decided to leave Israel so they could tour the United States and Europe. From 2006 to 2007, Monotonix played over 300 shows around the world, including SXSW and a tour with Silver Jews. These tours furthered their reputation as a band whose shows are not watched, but experienced. Monotonix have become known for setting themselves and their equipment on fire, stealing drinks from audience members to pour on themselves, and generally turning their shows into unabashed, frenzied dance parties. In 2007, the band recorded their first EP, Body Language, with Tim Green of the Fucking Champs - AllMusic.com
